Chamber of Commerce Chairman Nikolin Jaka has said today that a working group has been created with co-ordinators from Kosovo and Albania that will collect and filter all trade problems between the two countries by 15 July.
This processing group has begun to be established after the Conference for opportunity and assistance for Trade Relations between Albania and Kosovo, which was held on 21 May in Tirana.
The major obstacles the two countries are having in trade are noted at this conference.
The policy of our two countries should be directed to the “economy, Jaka said.
Our governments have to sit down and solve the problems our companies are facing. I am convinced that by July 30th we will come up with a plan for our two governments”
Earlier it was said that Kosovo would establish barriers with Albania if it did not remove its barriers, and had set the 1 July deadline. But Albania had not responded to these complaints since it was busy with local elections, and now the deadline is scheduled for July 30th.
Businesses from Kosovo have asked for the removal of payments to scanners Albania has for products, recognition of analysis certificates and tests that have been done to products, speeding up customs procedures, and leaving 22.5 euros in taxes on trucks in both countries.
For businesses from Albania, the obstacle is to pay 40 euros for parking trucks a day and to lack recognition of sanitation certificates.
