Thaci: Gani Sylaj a lifetime contributed to freedom and independence

On this occasion, Gani Sylaj was said to be one of the activists who has worked for Kosovo's ideal.

While President Hashim Thaci citing the Gani Sylajt event, he said at every stage of his event he has united people and contributed to the ideal of Kosovo.

“Ganiu was the man of the national movement who thought of Pristina, as much as for Presevo, Skopje, Ulcinj thought of national unity. Ganiu was among the first to assist Commander Adem Yasar”, the president said.

Meanwhile, the mayor of the Drinas municipality, Ramiz Ladrovci, said that the entire municipality he leads and all citizens are proud of Ganiu's activities.

One of the activists, Mehmet Hajrizi, expressed all the contribution for Kosovo to the Gani Sylaj event, where he said he would be remembered among the generations. The representative of political prisoners, Hajdajet Hyseni, said Ganiu's contribution and sacrifice have been very important to Kosovo. Meanwhile, on behalf of the family in attendance, he was thanked by the son of the late Father and Syla.

Gani Sylaj passed away this morning at the age of 67.

He will be buried at 7:00 p.m. in his native village of Kishnareca.
