The Luboteen fire, about 170km northwest of Berlin, is the biggest fire in the history of the joint state of McLaneburg-Western Pomerani, writes the AP news agency.
Authorities have announced that about 600 hectares of mountains and pastures have been hit by fires.
The water is drawn from its bed by the Laba River, while the army has distributed helicopters and is preparing to extinguish the fires.
