Sexual harassment continues in Kosovo schools: Four Cases in First Five Months of the Year

The last case had occurred in Rahovec, where a young girl had reported to the police that she had been raped. The police have arrested one person in this case.
Also, days earlier another rape case was recorded in Pristina, where police had arrested a suspect for this case.
In the Obilic municipality, however, one person had disappeared on June 23rd at 11: 00 p.m. As the police reported, the victim was allegedly violated, and police have arrested one person in this case.
Kosovo's news police have said that in the first five months of this year, four cases of sexual harassment have been recorded, with cases presented in and near schools, according to police.
Also in the Kosovo Police say that based on duties and police authorisations stemming from the police law, they deal with all reported cases involving criminal acts against the sexual integrity specified under the Republic Penal Code.
This context includes reported cases of criminal acts against sexual integrity involving sexual abuse and so on.
“We have in the police framework relevant units and well-trained officials for handling and investigating specific areas, including dealing with cases or criminal acts involving sexual integrity. Kosovo police on every reported case take necessary legal action by closely co-operating with the victims, social work centres, prosecutors and other relevant activists by conducting the necessary interviews and investigations for completing and addressing cases in competent bodies for further decisions”, the police response is said.
