Police and Prosecution for the Roma child: Heart and soul share pain and family

While the State Prosecutor received no statements to this day, police had said that “has carried out its” work share.

Three times it is believed that the 12-year-old had reported the case of harassment by the same person until police took no measure until after his death.

But in a joint statement the State Prosecutor and the Kosovo Police, “share the grief for the family of the deceased”.

On July 17th, a nine-year-old boy was killed in Fushe Kosovo. Our country, the institutions of justice and citizens are shocked by the tragic loss of the young man. Heart and soul share the pain with family and friends” is the Prosecution's current reaction, though the minor was 12 years old and died on 11 July.

Kosovo's “Police following the ongoing investigative and operational action company in connection with the reported case of 11.07.2019, originally named as the suspicious “death deficit”, dated 16.07.2019 around 19:55 of the Police Station of Kosovo police units has been arrested, the suspected person with the initials S. O. Male/ashkali/Kosovar, born 1999”, says the police report”, said in the police report.

And the State Prosecutor, today, recalls that the alleged “assassin has been arrested and is being held in custody”.

Kosovo's “Police and the State Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo are working together in full review of the procedures, actions and circumstances of this awesome tragedy. We will work diligently to address identified shortcomings and develop better protocols, which will better protect citizens, especially those most vulnerable to our society. We express our deepest condolences to our family at these heavy times”, the Prosecution Community concludes.

Numerous activists and citizens have reacted to the Kosovo Police's neglect of this case, even the silence of institutions in general.
