During the first five months of this year 37 Kosovars have lost their lives from traffic accidents, where only in the region of Pristina have 14 people died, writes the newspaper “Zri” today

Kosovo Police officials have reported on “Zen” that during the January period of May 2019, 5217 communications accidents have been registered throughout the country. After Pristina, the city with the largest accident caused this year is Prizren with 612 accidents, where 7 people have lost their lives, then the Peja city with 510 accidents with 3 victims in communications, in South Mitrovica a total of 378 accidents in communications, where 1 person has lost his life, in Gjilan 5 citizens have died as a result of traffic accidents, at 4 dead Gjakova, while in Ferizaj region during this period of time, fortunately no fatal accident has been recorded.

Due to the large number of fatal accidents, Kosovo police require drivers to take maximum care during driving. Kosovo's “Police consistently have concrete road safety plans and implement awareness campaigns, and at the same time require all participants in traffic and, in particular, drivers, to adjust vehicle management to road conditions, respect road traffic signs, and to be very vigilant.

The maximum care of traffic participants is necessary to avoid accidents and thus create greater safety in road traffic”, police officials have said, adding that for irresponsible drivers this year, over 170 thousand tickets in traffic have been pronounced..
