According to figures published by the Albanian Statistics Institute (INSTAT), for June, the number of visitors from Kosovo increased 55%, overturning a generally negative trend during the first half of the year, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
For June of this year, 213,550 visitors from Kosovo have been registered in Albania, to 137,538 visitors from this country that had entered Albania last June.
While the 6-month index refers to an increase of only 6.4%, compared to the same period a year ago. For the January-June period of this year, 608,449 visitors from Kosovo have entered Albania, while in the same period last year, 572,243 Kosovo visitors have visited Albania.
The number of foreign visitors to Albania in general increased by 27% during the month of June, where the start of the summer season has again given impetus to incoming tourism in the country. The significant rise of June month has brought the total number of visitors for the first six-month to over 2.1 million, up 11% compared to the first half of last year.
