Relations between Serbia and the United States, along with Kosovo's problem and reports with Russia, have been charged for decades by the unresolved murder case of the Bytyqi brothers 20 years ago.
The Serbian newspaper “Blic” writes that the case of the Bytyqi brothers is the subject of almost every meeting of Serbian and American officials.
The paper also cites yesterday's announcement of the US Embassy in Belgrade on the 20th anniversary of the murder of the British brothers, where the UN government again called on the Serbian government to resolve this case”.
Their deaths are something that cannot be forgotten. Reaching justice for the Bytyqi brothers remains a priority in our bilateral relations with Serbia”, the text says, broadcasts the Kosovo Clan.
The Bytyqi brothers' case is in the War Crimes Prosecutor, and according to official data, members of the Gendarmerie Sreten Popovic and Milos Stojanovic were tried for help in the murder, but were released in 2013.
