Kosovo Archive Development Policy Director Hope Macaj said this exhibition opened on this day in honour of the July 2nd Constitutional Declaration.
In addition to this activity this year, there have been several more, it is worth highlighting on 11 years of year, exhibits are being opened with older photos of Kosovo cities. These activities are aimed at sensationalising the opinion about the importance of the” archives.
We attach very special importance to co-operation with other foreign agencies for exchanging experiences, archive material, joint publication. We have co-operation with Turkey, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, Austria and with Albania more. As a result of this co-operation with Albania is also the joint magazine “Vjetari”.
McKey also related the many difficulties the agency has and the risk of disappearing the archive.
“We are in difficult conditions to save the archive document. The main department in Pristina does not even meet the conditions for storing the archive. Climateized, fire-protective, electrical system is overheated that can burn, wet, winter is low temperatures, very high summer”
All municipal archives are even worse than us at the center. They've given promises that have to start renovations. This year's archive depot has been supplied with several new and special shelves”.
There are some subjects that are badly damaged. We've started the digitalization process, but there are few workers and a lot of work to do”.
Mekaaj in Klan Kosova said that concern is even poor material for the recent war in Kosovo.
There are few recent war documents that have brought some people. It's about 1,000 photos that a Norwegian journalist handed over. The KPC has brought in the material it has had for the last war, as has a doctor from the hospital. Eight miles as we possess documentation, there's very little material about war”.
