Agim Veliu to Periscope: There will be divisions in LDK even if I am elected chairman

There are still 15 days left by holding the Democratic League of Kosovo electoral assembly. On August 3rd, this party will wrap up the domestic election process with the party chairman's vote. Many names have been mentioned, but officially no one has announced the candidacy. There is no way among these names not to [...]

The deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Agim Veliu, in a statement issued by Periskopi, has said he still does not know whether he will be one of the candidates for the chairmanship of this party in the election coalition to be held on August 3rd.
Veliu has told Periscope that everything will be known in the Assembly, where the names of delegates will be proposed.
Whether or not my candidacy will be proposed... I don't know if anyone would propose anything... of course I have a LDK support because I'm vice president”, Veliu said of Periscope.
On the other hand, he believes that in the August 3rd assembly, everything will be fine.
According to him, the whole process will not be marred by incidents that took place in the assembly of some of the party's sub-shelfs.
I believe everything went well for me. The Assembly would be fair, calm and democratic. There's no reason to follow something else. The incidents are past, they're minor, they've occurred in a small number of submarines, because the LDK has over a thousand branches and 2-3 subdegs have followed something like that. This is very few and have not damaged the” process, Veliu said away.
For the LDK deputy chairman, there is no way to take an interest in the domestic election process in this party, as according to him, it is the largest and most traditional party in the country.
“The LDK is the main party in Kosovo. The largest, oldest, most traditional party and always the interest in elections in LDK has been this way, even within the LDK, as well as outside, by other factors and opinions in general. Some of this interest is not genuine; some are sincere even without any trick to one of the candidates, he stated.
Whether he is a candidate or not, Veliu expects the race for the party's first will be fair and correct.
I expect the race to be fair and correct, if there are more candidates and I believe that there are very good LDK candidates, there will be secret voting and secret voting in LDK cannot be manipulated”, he continued.
On the other hand, Veliu has refused to comment on his co-party statements about the possibility of running or not running in this race.
Such were Gazmend Muharnier, who flatly refused to enter the race for the first of LDK, and the Haziri War, who was the first to announce that he would fight the race.
I don't have any comment, I don't comment at all on these things and statements from colleagues”, he said briefly.
Veliu has been in LDK for decades. He is even one of the closest associates to current party chairman Isa Mustaf.
Asked whether the time has already come for him to have some top leadership position in this party, Veliu answered briefly: “I don't know, I don't know where the Assembly delegates decide, for the LDK) chairman they decide”.
Veliu is convinced that his choice in this post, or any of the co-partisans, will not cause division in the party.
No more reason for division, no matter who is elected, there is no cause for division or division. We need to walk together, uniquely with the goal of winning national elections”, he said.
At the end of the conversation, Veliu refused to respond in recent statements that only the current party chairman, Isa Mustafa, can preserve unity within this party.
“
A greater promotion being made to Veliu by the followers of this party has been recently seen.
Veliu for Periscope said he has no knowledge of these things, but added that it is natural to promote his daily affairs.
As one of the main people in the party, Veliu's name has been cited as one of the party's contenders.
In addition to Veliut, it has been rumoured that this race could also include current party chairman Isa Mustafa, MP Vjosa Osmani, Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri, and former leader Fatmir Sejdiu.
The internal election process in the LDK is expected to be completed on August 3rd, when it is also scheduled to hold the electoral assembly, in which party delegates will elect the speaker.
This several-month process has been accompanied by several incidents, such as fists and chairs, which have been downplayed all the time as developments by officials of this party.
The fatherly beating practice in this party for the first time has occurred at the 2006 election assembly./ P ERISCOPIA
