Thaci: Our Patience Must Be Rewarded, Not Misused

On the panel with Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, ahead of an audience selected at the “forum. To Be Secure” in Budva, today we discussed openly our countries, Europe and the Western Balkans. Essential in this context is the fact that our entire region is making efforts for membership in the European Union. But to do so quickly, it is necessary that the EU itself will not be delayed by decision making, because the longer it is delaying, the more the impact of other unwanted acts and populism in our region is increasing. The greatest injustice to Kosovo is continuing to be keeping in isolation our citizens and blocking the prospect of membership in the European Union. Kosovo is not seeking an alternative, except EU, NATO and UN membership. This should be clear, both for Kosovo citizens and for the international community. However, I want to strongly reiterate that if the international community, respectively, member states of international organisations ( The EU, NATO and the UN will continue to keep the doors closed for the state of Kosovo, then the heads of institutions and our citizens should think seriously the other way to achieving the same goal.
