Spain's legend Santiago Canizare says that Jose Antonio Reyes “does not deserve to be named a hero”.
Former Arsenal star tragicly died Saturday in a traffic accident outside Seville in Spain. He died at the age of 35.
Canizares, who played with Reyes for Spain, criticised Reyes for high speed.
The high-speed interface is punishable behavior. There were other victims in the accident, except the driver. Reyes doesn't deserve to be remembered as a hero. But it doesn't mean I'm not sorry and I pray for their souls”, it wrote Canizares on Twitter.
Former Vallencias and Reali reporter then added that Reyes deserves to be remembered for his career and that he may not have been well understood with his posts.
I've read a lot of attitudes and I respect everyone, especially when I'm insulting and swearing. I just think that people should be condemned for their inadequacy and ask people to think about our mistakes. I believe this is in full accordance with the pain”, he added.
Reyes' cousin, 23-year-old Jonathan, also died in an accident, while the third, Juan Manuel Caldero, had managed to get out of the car and was sent to the hospital with serious burns.
Reess burial will take place Monday in the hometown of Watera.
