The two heads of state met in Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe, where they were participating in the Conference on Intervention and Building Faith in Asia.
This was their second meeting within a week after they met earlier in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, within the framework of the Shanghai Summit for Co-operation.
The Russian president highly praised Xi Jingping's role in developing bilateral relations and highlighted the success marked in the recent visit of the Chinese president to Russia. Putin gave the Chinese president ice cream as a birthday present”, the Kremlin's statement said.
Xi Jinping thanked Putin for the ice cream and said the Russian president is very popular in China.
The Chinese president visited Russia in early June, where he was a guest of honour at the International Forum for Economics in St. Petersburg.
During their visit to Russia, the two presidents had visited the Moscow Zoo, with whom Putin gave two Chinese Panda to Jinpingu, writes “CNN”
