The mayors' conference has set about 170 minutes for the Socialist deputies and 130 minutes for the new opposition at today's session, where it will be discussed in connection with the president's decree to cancel the election date.
In the draft resolution already drafted by the Socialists, which is expected to be voted in at the end of Thursday's session, the president's move is considered nul.
According to the Socialists, this act is intended to directly intervene in a process that is already in the competence of its administration body, and as such one should be examined and assessed by the election administration bodies envisioned in the Electoral Code. At the end of the majority resolution, the president is asked to reflect.
Albania's “Assembly calls on the president of the Republic to reflect by turning the institution of president into the borders of the competencies known by the Constitution and not to take any other action in flagrant violation of the Constitution”. The SP considers the country's historic moment before the decision to open negotiations with the EU, so it also expresses in this resolution that it recognises the citizens' right to protest, but estimates that political and institutional dialogue among political, parliamentary and non-parliamentarians is the only way of recognising functional democracy for political and social co-existence.
