The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kosovo Police have made additional commitments aimed at better management of crossing the Border Points between Kosovo and Albania, at this start of the summer season.
In this case, Mustafa voiced commitment to implementing this agreement aimed at facilitating the border crossing, but also pointed to some difficulties facing full implementation of the agreement.
The transition of citizens from Kosovo to Albania and vice versa is being realised with procedures facilitated by Border Police, thus avoiding long expectations. The difficulties we face in the Albanian border section due to insufficient infrastructure for the passage of vehicles, and especially trucks and tycoons from Albania to Kosovo”, Minister Mustafa said.
From the start of implementation of the Agreement until last month, at the joint point of the Vremica-Morine border crossing, more than 1 million people, out of whom 685 thousand have entered Kosovo, while 647 thousand in Albania, or a total of 544 thousand vehicles of different categories.
Kosovo and Albania have been operating with the financing of the European Union since January of this year, the common point of the Vermica-Morina border crossing.
