According to the Kosovo Statistics Agency, in the 2018/2019 school year, the number of students has marked a decline compared to that of 2017/2018.
ASK in published statistics shows that there are 40,000 and 99 students in pre-school education. Last year, however, there were 4 thousand 138 students.
While in primary education during the 2018/19 school year, there were 22 thousand and 51 students. And in 2017/18, 22 thousand and 721 students were in primary education.
The apparent decline of students is seen in lower secondary schools. During this high school year, there were 235,161 students, and last year, there were 240,782 students.
As a cause of this decline of students may be a decline in fertility in Kosovo, the Indexline writes.
