So Kosovo Telecom Chief Executive Chief Bedri Istrefi has announced today. The latter stood before protesters of the Kosovo Post Telecom Union Federation, who were protesting the continuation of the Z-Mobile contract.

Istrefi said ahead of them that this company will be announced today on the break of the contract on July 30th of this year.

“We are at the meeting still discussing the financial aspect that we have contacted an international company to do a financial analysis, in which the preliminary report has proved positive in terms of Kosovo Telekom. At the same time, we've also received an official announcement from outside legal expertise, where at the same time it gives us the right to announce that today we also announce the operator that has so far been partners with us, in this case Z-Mobile that the MSA secession continues since July 30th. Today you go to the report”, Istrefi declared.

During the protest, unionists have asked the Government to support PTK's decision to cut the contract. Union Chairman Lahmi Balaj said the contract with Z-Mobile is a corrupt and harmful contract for Kosovo Telecom, he has also directed several requests to Kosovo prime minister

We seek first from the Kosovo Telecom management before 30 June of this year to announce Z-mobile not to continue the contract, as its completion is July 30th. We seek from the board of Kosovo Telecom directors to support the Telekom management not to continue this contract with Z-mobile. We ask the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to support the board of Telekom directors for not continuing the contract with Z-mobile, as well as to support the board of directors in defence of Telekom's interests. For this case we are looking to the prime minister and the government, which, as the law envisions, returns the 15m-euro division of Kosovo Telekom, which has been illegally taken away by”, Balaj said.

He has pledged that in the event of failing to make a decision to cut the contract with Z-Mobile, the form of protest will also change.

Meanwhile, Nexhat Llumnica on behalf of KEK's new union said the Z-Mobile contract is harmful. He has demanded that the workers not be passive toward this impending great destruction.

The same demand went to Rashit Gashi, chairman of the KED union, who said that privatisation of Telekom should not be allowed.

We encourage you to continue your path straight, you already have a goal, you have made a decision, you don't allow in any way to find what we found, we've been privatized, today you've been trying to make sure that even after the time of privatisation, our network infrastructure across Kosovo can use other legal and illegal companies, so you shoot it together, and in this way you don't let anyone blackmail you or turn you off from this right path to the great goal that you have of”, Gashi said.

Fatmir Zeqiri, an engineer of Telekom, has cited losses that have caused Telekom -- the contract with Z Mobile.

“The ten-year contract between Kosovo Telecom and Z-Mobile has resulted in 104 million real losses for Telekom and 79.2m gross profit for Z-Mobile. Our entire network, all of our labors, they only at marketing costs, salaries for some workers, and a device, of 104m euros, cost to us, and 79 million for it. Of 79m euros in gross profits they declared only fivem euros in profits for 10 years, only fivem euros in recently declared Z-Mobile is as ridiculous as naive. Because it shows how much representatives of Z-Mobile” are able to distort the truth, Zeqiri said.

According to him, over 140m euros is the estimated value of lost revenues for Telekom with the signing and implementation of this contract.

Zeqiri said that had it not been for this Telekom contract today, there would be another 140 million in revenues. This contract, as he said, has caused irreversible damage to the image, thus exploiting resources, with which the quality of services for which millions of euros in investments have been poured out. /S.
