Haziri has said that this drastic drop in water in Perlepnica's feather is due to a lack of rainfall.
“Today I have declared a state of emergency for the exploitation of drinking water, which means a Task Force between the municipality, Hydromorva and the Kosovo Police in implementing these duties. There is a drastic drop in water in Perlepnica's feather as a result of a lack of rainfall and hot temperatures”, Haziri said, at an extraordinary media conference.
He said the joint teams will take concrete action and there will be no tolerance for those who do not respect that decision and that the mandated fines are extremely heavy up to 300 euros.
“We are in co-ordination with the Government of Kosovo, respectively, to cope with the dry season. My appeal is for this emergency state to be respected. No drinking water is allowed for gardens, roads, agricultural fields, autolars, and similar ones. We pray that we will not go into a state of emergency with even more extreme measures and that we will be able to cope with drought”, Haziri said.
The director of the National Water Company, Muhammat Suliki, has announced that the water level from 30.3m has dropped to 16.7m.
We've come to the critical water supply point since the level from 30.3 meters has dropped to 16 .7 meters. You should know that under 7 meters, we have no right to water ourselves because of uncleanness. We've mobilized and started with reductions at night between 11:00 and 4: 00 a.m. I'm asking consumers to use water only for sanitation needs”, Sullivan declared.
