Dragolovich: If the tax is not lifted, Paris meeting will be the same as in Berlin and Bratislava

So stated today the co-ordinator of the National Convention for the EU in Serbia, Natasa Dragilovic.
She says it is good that Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and his Kosovo counterpart Hashim Thaci met at the GLOBSEC forum in Bratislava and showed each other what they have, though, according to her assessment, there was nothing new.
The meeting in Bratislava, as well as the Berlin meeting, brought nothing new. Something more concrete was needed before the meeting in Paris, but this time there was nothing. The impression is that Serbia is under pressure to recognise Kosovo's independence without any concessions, and thus reduces support for European integration, as it appears Serbia's overall progress is conditional on this high political issue. It's not good either for dialogue or for general reforms in Serbia”, Dragilovic praised.
Dragolovic stresses that a compromise solution would be according to President Vuciq, so Serbia will not lose everything, and Kosovo will not gain everything.
This is not “win” but “in-lose” that does not promise the sustainability of such a solution in terms of stability and security”, she says.
She estimated that the GLOBSEC forum in Bratislava, which, after Munich's conference, was the most important European security forum, showed that despite major problems in Europe, such as Brex and the crisis in Ukraine, the Western Balkans continue to be in the security agenda of unresolved European issues.
