MP Berisha: Kosovo is not treating Egyptians equally with other communities

MP Veton Berisha in “Express Interview” has said Egyptians in Kosovo are not being treated as equal to other communities. He says the state should have a plan, which would bring equality for all communities rather than double standards. “We are today on the last day [...]
He says the state should have a plan, which would bring equality for all communities rather than double standards.
We are now on the last day of Egyptian Week. Within six days we have tried to do as much as possible to raise the voice of the Egyptians. The week has been full of activities, behind central and local activities. We have tried to attract the attention of the” institutions, Berisha has said.
Berisha has further added that through today's protest, they have tried to present problems, which Kosovo institutions continue to neglect.
We need to be treated dignified, in this respect I think the state has obligations to us. Two or more standards towards communities are used in Kosovo. In this case, Serbs are privileged. I don't think there's any more reason to talk about integration until the Serbs have built houses and they're abandoned, and we've asked to build houses and there's been hesitation. We are treated equally with other communities”, he said.
Berisha has now said that not enough of a position in the Kosovo Parliament, until he has stressed that there should be a link between the central and local level, which, according to him, is missing.
We don't have guaranteed seats locally, and this is very important. We do not have a connection, and the state will have to make a connection between the central and local level”, Berisha said.
He says there are no more reasons for citizens to be treated in multiple reports.
I think this should change and be treated equal. The state must sit down and plan an accurate plan for the problems that distract us. There are only ad-hoc actions, but they must have a real plan. I think the state should have system, have laws and implement them”, Berisha has said.
By contrast Berisha has mentioned the occasion when the Egyptian community has been completely excluded from the police competition, until he stressed that there are cases even when educated persons have not been found work.
We have 300-400 people who graduated, we have other people who are capable of working.
We have a case when a doctor has indicted the Ministry of Health because of his non-employment. He is now working in Dubai, and now he has a plan to create a fund for students”, he said.
Berisha says that in the field of education the Egyptian community is standing quite well and has better awareness.
We know it's very important that we go to school. We call on parents to send their children to school, and I can say that there is at least one person in each family who is in high school”, he stated.
He has also said that grants are not treated equally to others.
Our community currently benefits grants from ministries. Our community has difficulty running as an equal, and there is no policy to bring an equal level. Kosovo in the region is best dealing with communities, but it is not enough, it should have a better position, in this respect I speak of more employees, of well-being”, Berisha said.
