A heavy blow today has been on thousands of survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo with the publication of images showing the violation of a woman by Serb military forces during the war! It is embarrassing, disgusting, and shameful how a Kosovo Assembly depuity once raised its hand against the rights of sexually violated women and men during the war in Kosovo today used the very building of the Assembly to publish a photograph before the media that allegedly documents the act of violating an Albanian woman by three Serb soldiers.
The MP's move is non-legal, inhuman! The publication of the photograph seriously affects the victim's privacy and could lead to the identity of a potential crime witness Serbia has committed against our people. The publication of that photo re-traumatizes the victim and all survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo and decontain the survivors to press forward with the truth about the crime that has been committed on their bodies.
The publication of the photograph is a severe blow to the dignity of the woman seen in the photograph and is a heavy blow to our fight for justice for thousands of women and men who became the target of a vicious sexual assault campaign Serbia committed in Kosovo during the 1998-1999 war to rid Kosovo ethnically of Albanians!
I urge the media to remove the picture from their platforms so as not to damage the victim even more! It calls on justice authorities to investigate this action and act in accordance with the law!
Survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo are not tools you can use for your political spectacles!
