Wessel: We believe in international justice, but I remain disappointed

“Mbi 1 million Albanians were forced to become refugees, or displaced persons. 13,535 were killed. Among them, 1230 children, including babies. Thousands of women were violated. That was why the democratic world decided to intervene to stop this very genocide. The outcome of the war found Kosovo with the unresolved fate of no less than 6,057 persons”, he has said.

Wessel has claimed that all these crimes are known by names and surnames to their superiors.

You know who the mayors were. We know who the police and military units were. Execution units known. Places are known. Even correct crime hours are known. There's plenty of evidence. There are evidence (of His existence) and evidence (of His existence). They all expect to speak, not to be silent. They expect to be heard. Don't forget. They expect to be taken to bring to justice the killers of their families, the killers of their children. Every house, every street, every neighborhood, every village, every city, I know and I'll talk! Because, all and everything in Kosovo was the target of the Serbian genocide, only because we were Albanians”, Veselin has indicated.

The Speaker of the Parliament has confirmed that by the end of 2017, international justice was the only one responsible for dealing with war crimes in Kosovo.

Kosovo has deeply trusted international justice all these years. We have believed that genocide crimes committed by Serbia in Kosovo will receive the necessary answer from the mechanisms of this justice. But we today feel deeply disappointed when we find that this did not happen”.

Wessel has said it is in the honour of the Kosovo Assembly that the verdict now be made that justice for these crimes will occur.

That, he said, should happen for many reasons.

For the victims of genocide. Second, to ensure that these crimes will no longer be repeated. Thirdly, for lasting peace in Rion and Europe”, Wessel has indicated.

Prime Minister Veselini has come out with the initiative for Kosovo to begin the collection process and document the evidence of the Serbian genocide in Kosovo. He has proposed that this documentation process begin, which in another phase will be followed by preparing charges for criminals.

I've proposed a series of concrete initiatives, under conventional justice, to whitewash the past and put criminals to responsibility. I've proposed building a Genocide Museum in the former Trebe factory, which will hold activities in five areas. I have proposed by law the definition of a memorial date of genocide as well as the construction of a memorial for this tragedy of our people. I proposed converting the Pristina Train Station into the Debt Museum”, Wessel declared.

The Speaker of the Parliament, as well, has said he has invited this extraordinary session to take the initiative, which relates to serious commitment in bringing criminals to justice and ensuring justice for victims.

My “proposal includes a legal and institutional process, which will pass through several phases until we achieve the establishment of the International Tribunal for the Serbian genocide over Kosovo, beginning with the establishment of the State Commission that makes confirmation, research and classification of war crimes that took place during the recent war in Kosovo”, he has said.

Wessel has invited all to take place together in order to establish justice for Serbian state crimes in Kosovo.

Thousands of victims' families, killed and massacred Albanians, raped women, mothers and fathers who were murdered by their children, and children who were killed by their parents and grandparents. This is hosted by all of Kosovo”, Wessel has declared.
