Two decades after the massacre in Dubrava Prison, they again gathered at the very site where they experienced five - day horrors. The living Witnesses of this massacre still experience fresh sadness.
My “was placed in the C Pavilion, which was bombed by NATO on May 19th. Unfortunately, three prisoners died there and others were injured. Then we broke the prison doors, some of us, and some of the Albanian prisoners came from other pavilons and ate our doors and got out. The 20th was quiet. There have been no bombings by either NATO or Serbs. We're stuck in the prison yard without guards inside. With the date 21 NATO has again fired targets at Dubrava prison”, confesss RTV Dukagjin, Sadik Zeqiri.
The survivor of this horror relates how he managed to escape the May 22nd massacre, where more than 100 prisoners were killed.
“The morning of May 22nd we were sleeping in the yard. The Serbian police and Guardians from the spot have asked us to line up and give us some information that there are no conditions to stay here. We're in line. They immediately began to hunt from spotting spots and from several holes they had dug into the walls. We didn't know what was going on. Our bodies were fired with guns, zoos, bombs, mines. We some dikes have been removed to the bottom and managed to save at least temporarily. I'm wounded, and whoever was found injured was immediately killed by”, further recounts Sadik Zeqiri.
Two decades ago, Hil Kqira and his brother Sef Kqira were also imprisoned. He tells how the 26-year-old brother of Serb forces killed you.
It's been a terrible time. Nobody knew we were gonna survive. Brother has been killed on May 23rd. The guards broke in in in with military clothes, police, masks and masks and killed them, said Hil Kqira.
Kqira says justice can ease your pain but is not satisfied with what the state has done.
Serbians have not expected anything better. Now, 20 years since none of those who have committed the massacre have been convicted, and for us survivors have done nothing for 148x1...
Between May 19th-24 and 1999, 160 vulnerable persons were killed, while hundreds of others were injured.
