Staff are affected by measles, hospital in Struga

It's just surgical ambulances. Because of this, over 50 percent of health workers in this department are affected by measles. The Commission for Infections in hospital Sowas has made this decision, while the Health Ministry, the Public Health Centre and the Republican Sunnitar Inspectorate have been notified.

Yesterday the decision was made to temporarily close the surgical ward and not accept patients to us unless they are sent to the nearest hospitals where they will receive appropriate care. Patients scheduled for operations have been notified of the new situation created, while emergency cases will be re-elected to Ohrid or other hospitals.

Doctors do not rule out the deadline for non-functional surgery here in Struga to continue after May 28th. Recent information from the Centre for Public Health speaks that the number of measles affected in Struga is 126, while only 14 health workers are affected in surgery.”

The city hospital in Struga covers large areas of the population of about 600,000. But patients from other cities from the southwestern part of Macedonia, from the eastern part, come here for surgery, but also from Albania.
