Suspect Vaughn Denham, 48-year-old, reportedly attacked a man with a chopper after a disagreement they had had.
Police official Corey Pitts had responded to the call for the incident on August 8, 2017, and when Denham tried to intervene, he got in front of the police car and started beating him in chains.
Senior police officials in San Diego have reported that the police had reacted to self-defense, claiming they should not be named a criminal shooting act.
