Opposition stands conditions for government collapse

The Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement have launched meetings for co-operation for the no-confidence motion against the Kosovo government. On Friday, representatives of the Serbian List have met in Belgrade with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, and with the director of the so-called Kosovo office in Government and Servis, Marko Djuric.

From this meeting, the Serbian List took power from Belgrade and warned of leaving Kosovo institutions.

On the other hand, Djurovic said the Serbian List is ready to resign again from the positions of mayors, as well as co-operate with each party in Kosovo to bring down Haradinaj Government.

Serbia's “List will not return to Kosovo institutions and support the government in Pristina, but is ready to support each political party, which organises initiatives to overthrow Ramush Haradinaj's government”, Djuric has said.

However, would the opposition accept co-operation with the Serbian List to bring down Haradinaj Government.

Vetevendosje MP Albulen Haxhiu has told news that such co-operation is impossible.

“We've consistently had public presentations for these, we've been following attitudes on this issue. We as Vetevendosje Movement along with the rest of the opposition are coordinating the steps for the collapse of the government, but that does not mean we will have co-operation with the Serbian List. The Serbian list is a political subject that is conducted by Belgrade, therefore whatever co-operation with this political subject would be unacceptable”, the opposition MP has said.

However, when the Vetevendosje and LDK motion will go to the Assembly, she says, there are 120 deputies and the right to vote are each.

“We will not have a meeting and we will not ask to give it votes for the collapse of the government from the Serbian List”, Haxhiu has said, among other things.

On the other hand, LDK spokesman Bessian Mustafa has said that neither the LDK has the intention of having the Serbian List vote to bring down Government, flatly denying any possible co-operation with the Serbian party.

We prefer that this government, namely the PAN coalition that we consider harmful for the country, tear it down with the parties of the Albanian majority, but we probably don't have numbers then we call on the coalition parties to join us.

But if the motion is dropped in the Assembly then the Serbian List also votes, how does the LDK comment on this?

“We cannot stop by voting, but the LDK preferences are for the Government to collapse with the votes of Albanians”, he said.

Otherwise, on Tuesday there was a meeting between LDK leader Isa Mustafa and Vetevendosje's Albin Kurti. The key topic of the meeting has undoubtedly been the motion for the government's collapse.

During the following days, Mustafa is expected to meet with Paris Social Democrat Chairman Shpend Ahmeti.
