KMDLNj: Dubrava is “Ausvici” Kosovo

On the 20th anniversary of the massacre in Dubrava Prison, KMDLNj reacted by recalling that the criminal outcry he was delivered to in March 2002 at the International War Crimes Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia has not been addressed. According to them, the failure of criminal records by relevant international institutions legalises changing the Kosovo Criminal Code by which those who committed war crimes in Kosovo can be tried and punished in absentia.
“Dishandling criminal charges by The Hague Tributal, UNMIK and EULEX, even for the most terrible massacres in the midst of which the Dubrava Penal Code of Prison -- weight and consequences -- could be compared to Camp in Auschwitz or Dahau -- made it understandable, acceptable and legal to change the Kosovo Criminal Code by the Ministry of Justice with which they can be tried and punished in absence of those who committed war crimes in Kosovo”, the statement said.
KMDLNJ says the punishment for war crimes in absentia is the only way to ensure even small justice for victims and their families and responsibility for criminals.
“With criminal speculation for the massacre in Dubrava Prison, KMDLNj expresses respect for all civilian and military victims, their families, as well as for KMDLNI activists who have done a great job in documenting war crimes and who are now not among the living. Great work has been done by KMDLNj and others in this regard, but the right of the victims to justice is sabotaged by international justice”, said among other things in the statement.
