KEDS launched Kosovo's first 20 kilovolt network

In the length of over 15km, a whole new network has been built and 13 new trafostations have been established. This LP, which dates from the Obilic Mazzit and branches in two directions, from the villages of Pristina eastward and from those of Obliqi and Podujevo in the north.

The new end line of the Midwest 20kV will directly benefit thousands of residents of these municipalities, located in a hillyoro-mal zone. This level of tension is designed to provide much more quality services and lower electricity losses.

The previous line, inherited from the time the distribution was a public asset, was in very serious and very problematic condition, as there was constant trouble every time there was a deterioration of the conditions.

Now, in that part, everything has changed.

This LP is part of KED's projects for high-voltage re-establishment and transformation of the 10kV network into that 20kV, through the construction of new lines or total rehabilitation and the transformation of existing ones.

Pos LP Breznica, KEDS has built three more LP 20 KVs that are expected to be released during these days in full operation, such as Runik, Drenica and Lipjan.

The first interventions were made in the very most problematic lines, which often fell as a result of extreme factors, especially the atmosphere. And after completing the work in these municipalities, thousands of consumers will benefit directly.
