Residents of cities around the world who have no direct sunlight all year round complain about the lack of vitamin D, which is vital to health.
Besides, living in constant darkness looks so melancholic. Because of this, most people try to live in places where it is always warm, but there are still many people around the globe who do not see direct sunlight for months.
This does not mean that they do not need them, they just learn patiently, waiting for a brighter future.
There are about 3 thousand and 366 residents in Rjukan, a city that was named by Rukan, a 104m waterfall that provides easy access to the generation of large quantities of electricity.
In fact, this city is almost bright, except for December and January, but it is worth almost all of Norway because of the midnight sun.
What is different about Rjukan is the fact that the mountains surrounding the city do not provide direct sunlight, making the city more gloomy.
Thus, residents of this area decided to design mirrors in order to imitate the sun's rays, a project that cost some 5 million Norwegian chrons.

But many criticisms tried to note that this idea not only provided the very needed sun for locals, but also helped put the city on the map, as this idea managed to attract more tourists. The idea of the sun mirror was first raised by the city's founder, Sam Eyde, in 1913.
He understood the importance of the sun and tried to create a mirror of the sun, but unfortunately he failed to succeed. According to Norway's tourist site, “Ide was re-opened in 2005 by Martin Andersen, an artist and resident of the city. In 2013 the mirror was officially installed... 100 years after the idea”.
