The chairman of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament, Kadri Wessel, on the occasion of marking the 11th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, has said that the Constitution is the dignity of our state, so it should be clear that only by respecting it will the dignity of itself be respected.
Wessel said it has coincided with the date of the Constitution, April 9th 2008, as well as the date of border breach by the Kosovo Liberation Army in April 1999.
“was the Kosovo Liberation Army, the best boys and girls in this country that changed the ages. Our dream of freedom was not just a dream to remove Serbia forever from Kosovo. It was also a dream to build an independent, sovereign state based on the highest values of Western democracies.
The constitution of Kosovo, in its values and principles, underlies this great dream, now making it a reality”, Veselin stressed.
The head of the Parliament said the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is the dignity of our state, therefore, he said, we should be clear that only by respecting this constitution will we respect the dignity of ourselves.
The rule of law is the fundamental principle, without which we cannot move forward in fulfilling the vision we have for the state, nor keep Kosovo as a place of hope, of perspective for its young and for all citizens and communities. Rule of law is the vital substance of our very being as the comb. We've achieved success so far and can proudly write them down. But under our circumstances, we must do even more, better, even more, than any other country. Because the price we gave yesterday and the goal we have today is enough to ask for it”, Vessel said.
Speaking of the current challenges of the state of Kosovo, Wessel stressed that the best practices of exciting economic developments in the world have proved success only when the fundamental criteria of the legal state have been met.
It is also necessary to escape the large demographic slide that has already occupied most countries and populations in Southeast Europe, when developed economic countries absorb their skilled workforce. Kosovo can defend itself and increase these capacities with wise economic policies, and above all, by rule of law. Kosovo's path towards its goals has not stopped or stopped. The challenges are great, but even our chances of getting caught are even greater”, Veselin said, adding that we should now urgently focus on the economic agenda, whose neglect, as he said, is costing us a lot.
We need statistics of concrete results in punishing abusers. The justice ministry is working on a concrete legal agenda, but this is not just the work of a ministry.
The independent and Sovereign state of Kosovo has only one title: its people. This is the spirit of our constitution. It's our own future”, Wessel declared.
