The new leaders are expected to resign immediately after they officially take office, Koha Ditore writes today.
In late November last year, the chairman of northern Mitrovica, the Leposaviqi, the Zvecan leader and the chairman of Zubin-Potok declared the resignations as a sign of 100 per cent-scale dissatisfaction with the tax government has set up for products of origin from Serbia, as well as for the arrests of Serbs suspected of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic.
The four belong to the Serbian List and have declared a break in communication with Kosovo institutions. And in the letters of resignations that have been deposited in the Ministry of Management of Local Power, Kosovo has referred to Metohija “and Metohi”, the appointment Serbia uses for the state it considers its own province.
At the beginning of the week, President Hashim Thaci has set May 19th as the date when elections for mayors will be held in Kosovo's north, but List officials have declared that the decision on whether to address ballot boxes or not will be taken after a meeting with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucinq.
On Wednesday, Vuciq has received representatives of this Kosovo Serb political subject in Belgrade, after which he has shown what participation in the election will mean.
