Some of the 72 children returned to their homeland after they had taken their parents with them when they went to fight under the black flag of ISIS.
Others were born in the war zone, and Kosovo institutions brought them to Pristina after one of their parents had Kosovo citizenship. Nine children are born without parents.

Women and children took refuge for 72 hours at the Vranidol Centre of Asylum Seekers, while four men, among them a minor boy, were detained by police under suspicion of involvement in the war beside ISIS. Pristina's Foundation Court was appointed detention for a month.
From the camp where children were suffering for bread and water in Al Hol, only France, Russia, and Cecenia had taken their citizens and children born from them.
