The new president of the Republic of Northern Macedonia will be elected in the second round, as neither of the three candidates won the majority of votes from the total number of voters in yesterday's vote -- namely 904,066 votes.

LSDM and coalition chief candidate Stevo Pebdarovski after the end of the first round of presidential elections said everyone should participate in positive changes.

The “Concept together will win in the second round of presidential elections on May 5th. Clearly, the majority of citizens, Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Serbs, Bosniaks, Vlachs, Roma, others... have been suggested they want to go ahead. This is the rest of the successful concept for all of us and for our state”, Pendarovski said.

His opinion, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, stressed that the government's legitimacy stems from the people, and that power, as she said, spent it in 2.5 years and therefore early parliamentary elections are necessary.

I'm not a person who wants or drowns in triumph. I know the battle awaits us, but I think if we win such a large number of votes, and if we add to them Mr. Blrim Reka's as an independent two-party candidate, the story is clear. We both talk about rule of law, the rule of law, to end corruption and crime. The story is democratic and the story is European. And only with such stories we can get the start of negotiations and only with the realisation of such stories we can get the start of negotiations, to open towards the EU, otherwise we will remain buried in transition”, Siljanovska said.

Presidential candidate Blerim Reka, the elections assessed as correct, free and democratic, while stressing that there is no major echo due to the unadvised electoral list, which numbers about 1.8 million voters, though, from the country, more than 250,000 people have been displaced, and the actual number of voters is about 1.5 million.
