LDK chief Isa Mustafa says the Berlin meeting produced normal results.
He says the president's statements that visa liberalisation and prime minister's tariffs would be resolved in Berlin, were for domestic consumption and were still extinguished without returning to Kosovo.
“On these issues lies at meetings of these two EU-mediated countries (after the EP elections are conducted) and with a powerful role of the US”, Mustafa writes.
Here's his post:
From spectacular expectations, the Berlin summit produced normal results for such a composition. He sent messages that Europe needs a Western Balkans that generates not conflicts and crises, but peace. He didn't offer models and he didn't rule out models. Like the German Chance, Merkel, as well as France's President Macron reiterated their familiar positions on the Kosovo-Serbia agreement.
It has not been expected that the presidents and prime ministers of other Western Balkan countries would decide on Kosovo and Serbia's issues at such a meeting. These issues are decided at meetings of these two EU-mediated countries (after elections are conducted in the EP) and with a strong role of the US.
President ThacI's statements that there will solve the problem of visa liberalisation and that of the Presevo Valley, as well as of Prime Minister Haradinaj's for tariffs and borders, were for internal consumption, and were still extinguished without them returning to Kosovo. It was extinguished as the unity of the Albanian delegation, which joined Behxhet Pacolli's plane until Berlin, but in Berlin someone spoke to Merkel and Macron and someone beat the hands of Serbia's president.
It is illusion to expect a stable agreement with Serbia, unless a common voice of Kosovo institutions and the opposition and position on the issue is created in advance. Such a solution should be held as soon as possible in Kosovo.
