The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution on sexual violence during the war.
The approval was made after the removal of a clause on women's reproductive health in order to avoid US veto.
The resolution submitted by Germany was approved by 13 votes, and no one against the vote already abstained Russia and China.
The United States is said to have wanted to use veto on the resolution because of a text reference to reproductive rights, which Washington views as an encouragement to abortion.
A delegation from Kosovo led by former President Atifete Jahjaga has stayed at the UN headquarters during discussions on the adoption of this resolution.
That's what Jahjaga made known through a Facebook post.
“Today, we stand in the Open Debate on Sex Violence in Conflict of the United Nations Security Council on behalf of approximately 20,000 surviving heroines of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo. Your extraordinary strength is the incentive to always find ways to share your stories and appeal for justice, until there is justice”, it wrote.
