According to reports, there are 3,500 brothels in Germany, and 500 are only in Berlin. Meanwhile, at least 400,000 prostitutes work in this country in legal and illegal sex centres.
French media say these employees come mainly from Eastern European countries, such as Albania, Bulgaria and Romania, but also from Nigeria. Most of them are immigrants who don't even have regular documents to stay.
“3500. This is the number of legal brothels. Among them, only 500 in Berlin, according to estimates by the Erotic Gewerbe Deutschland (UEGD) association representing sector interests. In some fifteen years, Germany has become the largest market of brothels and prostitution. This producer was able to generate in 2013 an annual turnover of 14.5 billion euros, three or four times more than before the 2002 introduction of the law legalising prostitution. About 400,000 prostitutes and one million clients have registered throughout the country. Beyond Rin, sex workers are mostly immigrants, without documents and newcomers from Eastern Europe (“Albania”) and Nigeria. A great majority of them are victims of human trafficking, both in living rooms and on the streets where organised crime is widespread”, writes quite Le Point, broadcast Tch.
To show that this sector generates tremendous profits, French media show how 1,700 men rushed into “Pussy Club” in Stuttgart the day the law entered into power in Germany.
“Sex with all our women, as long as you like, whenever you want and whatever you want. Sex. Anal sex. Oral sex without condoms. Sex in three ways. Group sex. This was the promise of éPussy Club when it opened in 2009 near Stuttgart, a hundred kilometers from the border of Strasbourg. A package price of 70 euros per day and 100 euros per evening. About 1700 people went on the opening weekend”, the article points out.
Public homes in Germany are allowed, but authorities have defined certain measures that must be respected, such as the statement of éprofession by girls and the granting of authorization to homeowners.
