Engel: Special to handle even Serb crimes in Kosovo, Milosevic's army raped 20,000 women

The chairman of the American Congress Foreign Relations Committee, Eliot Engel, has preceded with a speech of Kosovo's war-torn confession, Vasfije Krasniqi, who will testify today at the congress to experience it two decades ago. Engel said it was shocking that no one was convicted [...]
Engel has said it is shocking that no one has been sentenced by any Serbian Court for hiding the bodies of Albanians killed and for violating more than 20 thousand women.
Belgrade is also responsible for the violation of 20,000 women. The Human Rights report says rapes have been present in Kosovo and as weapons of war for ethnic cleansing. Rape has not been individual but deliberate means to terrorise the civilian population. Rapes were a method to drive Albanians from Kosovo. 20 years later, justice was introduced. Nothing was done to ensure justice for victims”, Engel said.
“No more justice has been achieved against the victims suffered by Slobodan Milosevic's army. We think the Allies could do more to bring about justice. Nothing has been done to Serbs who committed crimes. Let it be clear to us that the overwhelming majority of war crimes and humanity were committed by the security forces of Serbia and Yugoslavia, and that is a fact”.
Engel at the U.S. Congress, spoke of the Special Court.
Kosovo has been forced to investigate itself and that is wrong. The Law for the Special Chamber this court follows only Albanian cases. The focus should be on whether this court addresses crimes indiscriminately and not just those committed by Albanians. If justice is continued for victims in Kosovo, it will never be reached”.
