The American Embassy today has comforted all family members who are commemorating the 20th anniversary of the deaths during the war in Kosovo.
In the embassy's statement, deniers of war crimes allegedly insult memories of victims.
Kosovo commemorates the 20th anniversary of war atrocities, the US Embassy expresses sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Denial of atrocities offends memories of victims, traumatizes families even more, and undermines progress in building a democratic and multiethnic state. We also encourage Kosovo leaders from among all communities to refrain from lighting rhetoric. Dedicatedness to the truth about the past of war is vital for a peaceful future”, the embassy statement said.
In statements by state leaders during the victims' memorial ceremonies in the massacres 20 years ago, several times have reiterated that the international community is refusing to deny crimes by Serb leaders.
