The British border forces may have thought that the best way to stop the silversmith from a spectacle at Old Tuffford was to keep him out of England.
Former Manchester United star Quinton Fortune discovered that a passport control official at Manchester Airport would have let Mess into Great Britain.
Messy has been fantastic during this season, marking 43 goals and 21 assistings in only 40 matches for the Catalans.
As the debate in Manchester continues on how to stop Messy, Fortune said that a woman in passport control promised him he would not let Mess into the country.
But as it turns out, even this tactic hasn't worked, and Messy is already in England with his team that is expected to crush United States between Old Tuffford.
