Minister of State for Diaspora Pandeli Majko today attended the 20th anniversary of the Atlantic Battalion “. At this jubilar anniversary, former members and other citizens from Kosovo described the same journey as two decades ago, when they fought for Kosovo's freedom.
Minister Majko has symbolically welcomed members of Battalion and other citizens back to the border point of Kukes, just as two decades ago, but already in a free and independent Kosovo.

He declared that the border between Kosovo and Albania continues to be the same one of the former Yugoslavia and must work hard to transform this border of Albanians, meaning removing border barriers.
Kosovo and Albania feel better, but we want to be better. We're Albanians and two borders here. It's the border of the former Yugoslavia. We must do it to Kosovo and Albania, which will soon become”, Majko said.

While the mayor of Kukes, Bashkim Shehu, indicated that Kukes still feels honored after 20 years.
Participants in the ceremony were also Mitrovica chairman Agim Bahtiri.
In memory of the 99 and “Atlantic Battalion”, City Hall and the Kukes District Council in collaboration with the “Association Exod 99” as each year made the symbolic reception of Kosovo Albanians in Morina.
