The tax decision was prompted by the four mayors to resign from their posts.
However, the issue in question is pending because the Ministry of Management of Local Power refused to accept forms of resignations.
This was because the same in their letters were referred to as institutions of “Kosovo and Metohija”.
This is confirmed by Public Administration Deputy Minister Becir Fejzullah. He says that in the current form, these resignations are not acceptable.
“in this form they are sent to, they are rejected. The reason for the rejection is that the same Kosovo state has been referred to as Kosovo and Metohija. They have also exceeded the” legal term, says Fejzullahu.
According to the deputy minister, this issue has already taken on central political character.
“The issue is more now in terms of a central level political character. We're in contact with municipal workers and we always give them information on how we should act”, Fyzullahu said.
And after the four Serbian mayors' decision, work in municipal institutions has been defunct.
Ambister from the PDK ranks in the Northern Mitrovica Municipal Assembly, Gonge Chaushi, tells us that since the chairman's resignation, no session has been held. According to her, however, no deterioration of the security situation has been found in this municipality
The “Situata in northern Mitrovica following the resignation of President Rakiq, has been largely calm and no change has been observed except since his resignation, the Komuna Parliament has not yet held any session”, says Caushi on news.net.
We stress that the resignations of four Serbian mayors had preceded the tax increase from 10 per cent to 100 per cent.
The country's prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, had spoken about this decision. He had said the documents submitted by the four former leaders are even familiar with the country's constitution.
