Podujevo begins field exercise “Hawk 03”

On the first day of this field exercise, which will last three days, the response has been simulated in the event of the collapse of the 6 Rihter earthquake, according to the Kosovo Seismological Institute, with an epic in the Podujevo municipality.

The chairman of the Podujevo municipality, Agim Veliu, has formed the Municipal Committee for Protection and Salvation, in which the first information on the situation created after ground information, where infrastructure damage has been caused and criminal groups' actions have been reported.

After received information, inside “exercise Hawk 03” on the ground has become co-ordinating activities by the Third Kosovo Security Force Battalion with the Podujevo municipality.

The Komuna Emergency Team, which members of the KSF, Kosovo Police, the Agency for Emergency Management (AME), Firefighters, Emergency Medical Services (SHME) and the Red Cross, had the first intervention in the cease-fire caused by the school's earthquake in Orlan. This school has also been exiled to the rescue of 10 students confined to the fire explosion, with cases of two persons being seriously injured.

Meanwhile, it has also been exiled to the extraction of two people with serious injuries, in a traffic accident between two vehicles caused by confusion and panic created in the population by the quake. Kosovo police have also faced the earthquake-hit population mass, which panic attacks institutions, seeking assistance in housing and food.

Police and firemen have also been exiled to the extinguishing of fire caused by two perpetrators at the school in Batlava. With this they have evacuated the perpetrators who are trapped and wounded by fire.

The Chief of Staff for Protection and Rescue, Public Services Director Faik Muciqi, successfully praised the first day of the exercise, in which the KSF team, the Komunic Emergency Team, the Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services and the Red Cross were engaged.
