Members of the European Integration Commission have made a series of criticisms against European Integration Minister, Gift Hoxha, for failing to implement the National Programme for implementing a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (PKZMSA) and the Agency for European Reform (ERA), which has resulted in the loss of tens of millions of euros from the European Union.
As far as visa liberalisation is concerned, Hoxha has said it is not the fact that this minister has no serious commitment to the issue of liberalisation.
MEP Ismet Beqiri from the LDK stressed that it is important to say that elections in the European Parliament, corruption and organised crime allay hopes that visa liberalisation will be soon.
“We have major problems of rule of law and corruption. This is an obstacle that we are told every corner, that there is corruption in Kosovo, there is organised crime. Therefore, the focus should be on fighting organised crime and corruption. Today it is ridiculous to punish the defendants with 20 euros while setting off suspicious millionaires”, Beqiri said.
MP Milaim Zeka from the Social Democrat Initiative stressed there have been a lot of lies by the authorities that there will be visas.
The “all have the rules that liberalisation will take place, and the visa decision is a political decision, and it has been a political decision. Twenty MPs are on charges, and it does not go up to an MP for political revenge. The organs of justice are overwhelmed by extreme crime”, Zeka said.
MP Fatmire Kolcak from Vetevendosje said the Health and Education Ministry are at the bottom of the list for implementation of SAA measures. She added that Kosovo has failed in the integration plan. Until I heard you reporting as Minister of Integration to implement SAA measures, I thought I was in Germany. It should be cited that there is no satisfactory implementation and how the EU required measures should be observed. So we need to verify the implementation on the ground, because the paper is different from”, Kolcak said.
While Commission Chairman Blerta Deliu Kodra has referred to the latest president of the Telekom Board, she has asked Minister Hoxha to stop hiring on boards that are political.
In this regard, MP Milaim Zeka has acknowledged that the case of board member in Telekom, Osman Ejupi, who has employed his children in this company is among the NISMA ranks. While Minister Hoxha has said there have been speculation recently that Kosovo has lost millions of euros from the European Union due to poor performance in implementing the SAA.
Kosovo has not lost a single cent in this direction”, she has said. Hoxha, among other things, has said that as far as the tax is concerned with Serbia, this minister has not received any response that may have links with liberalisation.
