The institute reports that from January 1, 2017, over 280 people have lost their lives in road accidents, 137 died in 2017, 129 in 2018, and others 15 this year.

National Institute experts warn and warn that if emergency measures are not taken, the expected loss of life expectancy of residents will be enormous.

The Institute's full appeal:

The citizens' appeal!

Watch your vehicle drive!

By January 1, 2017, over 280 people have lost their lives in road accidents, 137 died in 2017, 129 in 2018, and others 15 this year.

In the first two months of this year, 15 people who have died as a result of road traffic accidents in Kosovo. If compared with 2018, four more have lost their lives for the same time. Only today have four deaths occurred in two separate accidents.

Kosovo's National Institute of Public Health is consistently conveying the epidemiological situation of traffic accidents.

The National Institute for years expresses concern over the large number of traffic accidents, which resulted in the death of hundreds of people who present alarming and most disturbing figures in the fact that most victims are pedestrians. So far very little is being taken in preventing them.

The causes are different, but certainly the human factor is more frequent because they are not complying with the general rules in traffic, from unsafe vehicle manipulation, speed overcoming, not keeping track, not complying with traffic signs, and not complying with frequent use of mobile phone conditions, driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, the impact of fatigue or insomnia, non-seriotic training during a driver's exam, but not lacking even a factor and driving because there are still too many signs of communication and cars lacking in the age-old mechanical infrastructure, where the driving is careless and driving.

Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are threatened by road traffic accidents, and especially worry that there are children involved among victims.

The authors of accidents note the lack of civic manners for pedestrian and automotive circulation rules, the lack of priority in communications, among other things, as self - centered persons, inclined to perceive that the world revolves around them alone, is hard to see the circle and access others, where they perceive themselves in the pedestal of absolute control over others.

National Institutes Gives These

RECONDMENTS

  • Establishing an action plan for preventing accidents and approval with urgent procedures from the Kosovo Parliament.
  • Rygorosis of the Law for Communication until driving ban for repeated serious wrongdoing.
  • With various educational programs, informing people of the specific drivers of their role in preventing accidents that occur as a result of their mistakes and the ability to provide first aid.
  • The involvement of mass media in various campaigning aimed at preventing accidents.
  • As the new school year begins, the issue of children's safety in communications becomes sensitive by organising educational clocks for conduct of pedestrians in communications, systematic learning of communications rules.
  • The immediate departure of old vehicles from circulation, rigorous technical control of all vehicles.
  • Regular, periodic, and complementary medical examinations with rigorous mental health assessment of drivers who have committed serious consecutive offenses.
  • To regulate road infrastructure, to become road maintenance, to complete signaling and rigorous compliance with car parking rules.
  • Automotive management accurately adhere to signs of communication and the code of civil courtesy.
  • rigorous inspection of autoschools and criteria for patenting drivers.
  • Footmen respect signs of communication.

The National Institute recommends rigorous implementation of road rules that are not in themselves aimed at condemning citizens who commit offenses, but at reducing the maximum traffic accidents and increasing the safety of the lives of citizens who circulate on the streets of Kosovo. It must be understood by all that life is more expensive than a traffic violation.

National Institute experts warn and warn that if emergency measures are not taken, the expected loss of life expectancy of residents will be enormous.

So we appeal to all citizens to be very careful in driving because the vehicle is the killer weapon that takes innocent victims.
