Candidates who want to become part of a company or a concrete institution are important to recognize some basic aspects related to the interview and other methods that an employer can practice on condition that one makes part of his company. Various companies often use their first method of telephone interviewing before inviting candidates for a physical interview. Working interviews over the phone mainly last up to 15 minutes and serve recruits to understand whether a candidate is eligible for the job being required.
The moment you want to apply for a job, you need to be careful to walk in the safest way from the first steps of application to the final ones dealing with the choice of your employer. Sending necessary documentation, calling to become part of the interview, testing by telephone, describing work tasks and candidate selection not only require necessary professional preparation, but in most cases can also present itself as a very stressful situation for the candidate who claims to become part of the company, where he intends to build professionally.
Hence, certain aspects involving mistakes that the candidate interested in the respective position should necessarily be avoided in this article. Various recruits show that even through voice they are able to understand whether a candidate is suitable for the position given.
Recruitor Zane Havolli, from the HumanPoer recruiting company, gives some advice to all candidates who are expecting a call from the company they applied to. She says that a phone call is not always just an interview call because you won't always get a chance to be invited to an interview physically after the call.

„Showing courtesy is one of the most important things in our first contact with a candidate, especially when we have not yet agreed to a meeting. When you meet physically with a candidate, you certainly stand out a lot from a phone call, and for that reason it is more important to build closeness and some confidence during the conversation. Candidates have to stress the importance of this job and why this company is interesting to them. Likewise, a candidate's interest in further steps plays a big role. The more positive a candidate, the greater the chance of being left in the memory of a recruiter“, Havol said.
Among other advice it gives is to pay attention to what is being discussed during the conversation so that the discussion is not accompanied by pause in response to the candidate because it can affect a weaker performance of it. According to her, the candidate's motivation is seen if he does not try to be the first to interrupt the conversation. So if the conversation lasts longer, the probability of that candidate getting closer to employment is ever higher.
Based on her experience in recruiting, Havolly pointed out that stress is understandable, and it's also seen over the phone but it's not something that drops the scores of a candidate.
It's normal that you might have some stress before such a call, but it doesn't subtract your points, because this is an important step that can bring you closer to your dream work. My advice would be to pay attention to what is being said during the conversation, and not be confused by the question or conversation being characterized with pauses or brief answers. From my experience as a recruiter, I notice very quickly whether a candidate is suitable for the position he applied for, and I think the longer conversations will be the best chance to go through the application process. The way a candidate talks over the phone makes me discover a lot about him as the purposes, values, and motivation that characterizes him“,
It underlines that a particular importance must be given to speech, that is, candidates should be careful to speak as fluently and to convey clearly what they want or think about the work they have applied.
According to her, most people usually speak very quickly, and in this case, breathing is also required to prevent much uncertainty from being transmitted to the recruit.
During the interview with Kosova Job, Havolly stressed some of the most common mistakes most candidates make during their telephone interview. Among them, she also mentioned discussing the pay with the recruiter, which according to her being considered unacceptable since it is something to be discussed at a meeting across the street. It also advises candidates not to change their telephone number because there are many cases when they changed their phone number after they applied and therefore lost access to the interview.
Although the company sends the invitation for an interview even via email, recruiter Havolly recommends that candidates take notes about it, since not always email can serve as a good reminder.
The way the conversation is concluded is very important to complete successfully. Candidates are suggested as they have kindly begun to end the conversation. So use sentences like „Thank you for the good conversation “or something.
