This will be Ukraine's first challenge, 32 years old, in the dissemination of heavy weight, where world champions are held by Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. Ukrainian boxer, known as the “monster boxer”, aims to be the undisputed world champion at this division.

The challenge between Usik and Takam is expected to be formalised on Monday, but everything is closed in terms of the deal. Ukraine is seen as favoured for this challenge, which according to British media would open the door to major challenges in heavy weight.
“Usik and Takam have reached agreement to duel on May 18th in Chicago, the challenge to be transmitted by DAZN. Ussick has decided to gain weight and pass on to heavy weight. This challenge will take place on the same day as Wilder and Braeseal (at Showtime)”, the organisers of this duel said.
