Ankandi Pipa's house said that five-year-old Armando was the best Belgian tailed dove of all time and had recently retired.
Even in the wildest dreams, we couldn't hope to achieve that price. We were hoping for 400,000 and 500,000 and dreamed about 600,000 euros,” said Nicolas Gisselbrecht, director of Pipa.
He said two Chinese clients competed and that they raised the price from 52,000 euros per single hour to about 1.25m euros.
Gisselbrecht added that everything seemed incredible, since the usual price for pigeon runners is about 2,500 euros
