Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK) and the owner of the Elkos Group company have talked about the effects of the 100 per cent tax on products of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Kelmendi, American advice should be heard about the tax. He has also talked about obstacles he has managed to invest in Tirana to open a commercial centre worth millions.
He says he supports firmly establishing the tax both for achieving political goals.
Kelmendi says the real tax effect of 100 percent would be the continuation of consumption of local products by citizens.
“Taxa has been set for political purposes and all who want good for Kosovo certainly support it, and I support it without reservation for this tax to achieve political goals. If there are achievements of economic goals, then there are two goods, so in both cases the tax will carry out the political and economic function”, businessman Ramiz Kelmendi has said in an interview with Telegrafi.
After the tax on products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to him, citizens have managed to convince them not to consume products from these two countries.
“Taxa has managed to convince citizens not to consume products from Serbia and Bosnia. The biggest effect is if citizens without any decision continue to consume products from Serbia and Bosnia, even if the tax is lifted, it had been the full effect. The initial effect is not enough, the crucial effect is not to have consumption from these two countries”, LDK deputy Kelmendi said.
He has said the Government of Kosovo should invest in marketing campaign to increase citizens' awareness not to consume Serbia and Bosnia products even after the tax is lifted
Kelmendi says Kosovo's relations with the US and the European Union should not be ruined.
According to him, advice should be heard from America on the tax.
If we don't listen to America, then it means we don't know what the major interests of the United States of America are. We don't have a motorcycle, a political and human, to take part in policies and strategies America has for the Balkans “, Kelmendi said.
In this interview for the <x0 Plus” show, Ramiz Kelmendi has also talked about building hydropower plants in Lumbardh, as well as its obstacles, to invest in Tirana.
