Former Culture Minister and current deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Kujtim Shala, in a statement to Periscope has denied the news that he will be the next candidate for Kosovo prime minister by the LDK. Shala has even said there is no ambition to be a candidate for prime minister, and no LDK chairman.
I have no ambition for either of these two positions, and the LDK is not at all in these processes. So we're not talking about the party chairmanial candidates or possible candidates for prime minister”, Shala said.
He has distributed a survey today where the question was “if elections were held Sunday who would you vote for prime minister? Shala turned out to be the second most voted after Albin Kurti, and that news spread on his Facebook page. And it was interpreted as a Shala's wish to become prime minister. But in his statement to Periscope, he has explained that he has simply distributed an ordinary survey. No more.
The “is one of the surveys making different pages and portals I don't exactly know who it is, but it turns out every four or five days and I'm involved in it. But since I haven't been contacted, that is, without the will of those mentioned by polls”, Shala said.
He has also clarified that the survey was distributed, not from itself on his Facebook page, but from the manager who welcomed it.
The LDK will hold its domestic elections this year. It is not yet known whether there will be other candidates for the party's chairman, except for Isa Mustaf, already known to be in poor health.
Asked whether he would be willing to assume the candidate's responsibility for the mayor, but also Kosovo prime minister if the LDK asks him, Shala has repeated for Periscope that his party cannot seek something like that from someone without ambition.
“You could ask someone who's ambitious”, said Cameron Shala for Periscope. /Periscopi/
