American police have reported that five people were killed and several others were injured after an armed person shot them in an industrial park in Illinois. Police have killed the assailant, while five police officials have been injured.
The attack occurred at a factory in Aurora, located about 40 miles west of Chicago. Police have identified the attacker as 45-year-old Gary Martin, who was a worker in the assault company who was fired several days ago.
Officials have not commented on the motive of the attack, but an American newspaper has reported that the attacker's family has said that he felt stressed by the fact that he was fired.
The names of the five victims have not been published. Meanwhile, two injured police officers have been transported by helicopter to the emergency center.
A witness said he saw his colleague, who was armed with a laser gun. One of the workers came to the office and showed us that this person was shooting. He ran and he was bleeding. I heard even more shots and we all came out of the” building, John Probst said.
